Crafting Bubble

I have been chained to my craft desk for much of the past week, racing to get two pretty big projects completed. One of the projects was to make samples of all my products for a friend to take along to a home shopping event she is hosting, so I'm excited to see if I get any orders as a result! Needing so many samples meant I got to have an afternoon of matchbook-notepad-making - they are one of my fave things to put together!

I've also made a new memo pad board which I'm hoping will generate a few orders!

I've been eating, sleeping and breathing craft lately; I'm in what Himself calls my "Crafting Bubble"! I often think the world could be coming to an end and I'd still be rushing to finish just one more card!! I think a lot of crafty folk must be the same!! :)

A Year's Worth of Cards...

I always to like to hear about other people's crafty hobbies because I know what it's like to really LOVE making things. And I'm impressed when it's a craft that I don't think I could ever have the skill to tackle myself. So when my friend, Emma, who makes pottery, said she could make me a cat-shaped door number plaque for my house, I was thrilled:

You can tell that my house is number 37, right? :)

I've seen other items that Emma has made and she has a real knack for it. In fact she's at the stage where she has a houseful of pottery and doesn't know what to do with it! I suggested she set up an online shop or attend some craft fairs, just to see how it goes. So fingers crossed for her!

I'm a bit the same, a houseful of cards and papery items, but I've delighted to say I've been kept very busy with sales and orders so far this month, including a lovely, regular customer who has ordered her whole year's supply of birthday cards for friends and family in one go as she is moving abroad and wants to take them with her! So that's 31 cards and they need to be done by 28th Feb! I'm about a third of the way through, can I make it in time???

The order is taking up most of my time at the mo, but I know there's a special occasion not far off, and I need some cards to put in my shops, so I've prepared one or two:

Anyway, back to my birthday cards, see you soon!

Taking Stock...

It's been a bit snowy here, on and off, although it's never come to much, luckily. Most of the weekend was taken up with watching rugby, but we did take the chance to have a long walk on Sunday, culminating in a stop-off at an Italian cafe and the biggest brunch ever!

The foccacia roll was the size of Bolivia - near enough! I think I'm still recovering from it now!!

Craftwise I've been taking stock of all my products in preparation for a couple of shopping parties that friends are having. My brain threatened to explode but, upon making a comprehensive list on the computer, it became much clearer to see what I have to make to fill the gaps!

Things like this, ready for Mother's Day and spring:

I love being able to use all these pretty, fresh colours after such a long, bleak winter!!

In The Pink!

My favourite colour has always been pink, so I'm naturally drawn to anything in that shade. With a new health kick beginning I thought I might be more likely to keep to my tone-the-baggy-bits-of-my-arms workout if the dumbbells were roseate in nature:

And if the item is pink AND has cats on it, well I just absolutely HAVE to own it!!!

Like this phone cover made to order for me by the lovely lady who owns this Etsy shop!

Isn't it fab???
