Recent Card Creations

No entrants for my giveaway yet? Don't be shy, there will be some very cute items up for grabs! (although what they are is a secret!!) Don't miss out on the Crafty Mushroom fabness!! ;o)

A couple of cards to show before I plunge into an afternoon of (I hope) creativity!

The first card made using my new tool designs:

This was given to Himself's nephew for his recent birthday but it would be suitable for big boys as well as little boys!

And for gardeners of the female persuasion, this is available in my shop:

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Nice Start To The Week

Yesterday I was at work and it was just another Monday, when a parcel arrived, looking very well-travelled, as it had come all the way from Canada.

Excitedly I opened it and discovered an enticingly-wrapped tissue-papery item within:

The accompanying card explained all - this was my prize from the Pay It Forward Giveaway, hosted by the lovely Famfa! Yay!

Imagine my delight when I opened the inner parcel and came face to wool with these little characters:

A chicken who looks sweet from all angles!

And this little egg cosy:

It really made my Monday, so thank you!

Now I'll need to put my thinking cap on and decide what my PIF giveaway is going to be!

All the cards I'm working on at the moment are for orders so can't be shown yet but I do have a sneak preview of a set of new designs for men/Father's Day:

Have a great weekend!

Meet Me on Monday - Please!

Not done this for a while but the lovely Jumbleberries does such a good job over on her blog I thought I really should give it another go! Hop on over there if you'd like to join in!

So this week I'm:

EATING: Gingerly, as I felt a bit "delicate" at the weekend, despite having two lovely meals cooked for me by Himself.  I still feel hungry but my digestion is wanting to take it easy!

READING: The Birthing House (see previous post)

MAKING:  More post-it notepads and cards for my shop

DRINKING: Delicious Lavazza coffee made in a cafetiere on Himself's stovetop - devine!

LIGHTING:  My newly-bought batch of spring-scented Yankee Candles - mmm!

VISITING:  The Surgeons Hall Museums in Edinburgh - what better way to spend a Saturday afternoon than looking at body parts in jars! (Yes, I am that weird!) Be warned - this is not for the squeamish!!

Have a great week everyone!

Yesterday...

...I went to the 3rd birthday party of Himself's nephew and much fun was had.  I couldn't resist taking a pic of his hedghehog cake before we all scoffed it!

Cute eh?

This morning I met some friends for coffee and then hit the shops where I picked up this book:

I'm looking forward to a good thrilling read!

Craftwise I've got some new items ready to list in my shop.

I've got a nice dinner planned and maybe a wee glass of white zinfandel! Hope your evening is enjoyable too!

Easter Expeditions

Hello everyone, I hope you all had a lovely Easter! Mine was fairly quiet and didn't involve excessive amounts of chocolate, but what I had I enjoyed.  Himself and I took a couple of lovely walks along the Water of Leith from Currie to Balerno, once we'd fuelled up in a little tearoom where all the crockery was appealingly mismatched, as if the owner had picked it all up in a few antique shops and flea markets!

The weather stayed dry as we wandered along by the water and I snapped a few pics.  We were most intrigued by this tree which had decided to grow through the fence it stood beside!

I thought it looked painful for the poor tree!

We met a lot of friendly people on our trek and although the weather wasn't overly bright, it stayed dry and everything looked fresh and lush!

I'm trying to have more of a crafty day today and so far have made another Little Notes set and a couple of post-it books.

I've also cleared out a drawer in Phase One of my Craft Room Declutter but I quickly got bored.  I've a feeling it's going to be a long haul....!!

Blundering Bumbleness!

Do you like my new-look blog? I thought it was time for a change!

I've had one of those days today where I've felt "ham-fisted".  I feel clumsy, all-fingers-and-thumbs, awkward and anything else that describes a general state of bungling un-coordination!  Maybe it's because my hands have been cold all day.  Unfortunately I can't really craft wearing gloves so what am I to do? Answers on a postcard please!!

Anyway, despite this, I have fumbled and bumbled my way through a bit of crafting and I'd like to show these cute sets I have put together:

They contain a matchbook notepad, a lined notepad and a paperclip bookmark.  I think these would be good at craft fairs and I will also be listing them in my Folksy shop soon!

Overworked Legs!

I don't know if gorgeous weather was expected today but we certainly got it here in West Lothian! After a breakfast of chocolate Philadelphia on toasted bagels (yummm!) Himself and I set out on a 6-mile-round hike along the coast from Blackness to Bo'ness, which overlooks the Firth of Forth.  Poor H had already been for an 8 mile run this morning so I don't think his leg muscles will ever be the same again!

I took a few pics along the way.  I don't know if they really worked or not. I guess I still have a lot to learn.

EDIT - I wasn't happy with the original pics I put on here so my dad has kindly "tweaked" them and I am very pleased with the results! Thanks Dad!

After our walk we had coffee at a canalside bistro, sitting at an outside table, soaking up the sun.  We won't be able to believe we actually did that come Tuesday when we are supposedly to get snow showers here!!

I've been making more goodies for my shop and upcoming craft fair:

And now, I think I'm going to rest my weary (but not as weary as Himself's!) legs in a long, hot bath!!
